"Creating an accent wall – using a color to paint one or more walls differently from the other walls in your nursery – can add interest and excitement to your baby’s room. If this is your preference, I recommend you accent the wall behind the crib. An accent wall works best if it enhances the natural focal point of the room – which in your nursery is most likely the crib.

"Alternatively, use the Brushed Rose accent color in combination with the Fallen Petal primary wall color that I selected for top and bottom colors. This can work most effectively if your nursery has a chair rail, painted the Intimate White trim color that I selected, to divide the colors. Or use a coordinating wall border along the middle of your walls to divide the colors. Which colors go on top and bottom is a matter of personal preference. Don’t be nervous. Have fun!

While flat paint is best at hiding any surface imperfections and is therefore frequently recommended for walls, it has washability drawbacks for a room that will likely require at least some spot cleaning in the months and years ahead.
