The Kidco Gate Installation Kit works with any gate brand, not just Kidco gates. They can be used with pressure or hardware mounted gates. It includes the materials and fasteners necessary to properly install any child safety gate to wood banisters, hollow walls (drywall) or wrought iron. One kit is required for each side of the gate that is not being mounted into a solid vertical wood surface and only the most basic tools are needed to assemble any good child safety gate. The gate installation kit can be used for the following installations: wood banister installation using wood screws, wood banister installation using plastic ties, hollow wall (drywall) installation, and wrought iron installation. Wrought iron installation may require 2 Gate Installation Kits.

NO DRILLING! Finally a gate mounting kit that doesn't require drilling into staircase woodwork! There is widespread resistance by many to drill into staircase newel posts in order to properly mount a stairway safety gate. Kidco has long identified this resistance, and has assembled the materials and fasteners necessary to properly install any child safety gate to stairway banisters, without drilling into your expensive, decorative wood. The kit contains two "clamp" assemblies, one square, and one with inserts to accommodate curved or round upper post millwork. A smooth hardwood board is included for mounting to the "clamps”. The gate is then mounted to this board, and the installation is then secure without the need to drill or use screws driven into the staircase millwork. The No Drill Gate Installation Kit is for use at the top or bottom of stairs, with hardware or pressure mount gates. The hardware is designed to fit square posts 2 1/2" - 3 5/8" wide or use the included insert for round post installation.

Many homes have staircases that aren't bordered by a wall. In this situation the Y Spindle aids installation of the pressure mounted gates to these types of staircases. The Y Spindle wraps around the baluster to provide a secure installation. On all Gateway Models, the Y Spindle can be used on either side of the gate. However, they must be used on the same side. No more than 2 per gate can be used. For installation of a pressure-mounted gate on a staircase with balusters on both sides, you will need to use a Gate Installation Kit.
